Sunrise Instruments (SRI) was founded in 2007 by Dr. York Huang, former Chief Engineer at FTSS (Humanetics ATD) in the United States, after his return to China. Located at No. 19, Keyuan West 10th Road, Nanning, SRI occupies 8,500 square meters of manufacturing and office space and employs more than 300 people, including three PhD holders. SRI specializes in the research, development and manufacture of multi-axis force sensors, force-controlled grinding equipment and automotive testing equipment. All products are developed in-house. Its multi-axis force sensor portfolio includes six-axis, three-axis and single-axis force sensors, as well as joint torque sensors. Its force-controlled grinding portfolio includes iGrinder intelligent compliant force-control units, force-controlled grinding tools and complete intelligent robotic grinding systems. Its automotive testing portfolio includes force sensors for vehicle durability testing, force sensors for crash test dummies, crash force measurement walls and advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) testing systems. These products serve industrial automation, humanoid robotics, automotive safety, healthcare, research and other fields. Since 2011, SRI has been a key global supplier of force-control sensors for ABB robots. It also maintains close collaborations with leading global companies, including KUKA, YASKAWA, UR, Medtronic, SAIC, GM and Kistler. According to third-party statistics, SRI holds a 12% share of the global market for six-axis force sensors.
SRI’s manufacturing base is in Nanning, China, with branch offices in Shanghai and Detroit, USA. The company has established the Joint Laboratory for Intelligent Robotic Grinding with KUKA and the iTest Joint Innovation Laboratory with SAIC Motor. Its sales and service network covers the United States, South Korea, Japan and Taiwan, China.
